Take your rifle skills to the next level with Stronghold Corp’s Fighting Rifle 2 course at Walnut Lane Range. This intensive live-fire class is designed for students who have successfully completed Rifle 1 and are ready to develop more advanced weapon handling, movement, and defensive shooting techniques.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Stronghold Corp Rifle 1 is required before attending this course.

Course Overview
This course provides advanced instruction and practical application for the operation of a semi-automatic carbine. Students will refine the fundamentals learned in Rifle 1 while developing the skills needed to safely and effectively operate their rifle in more dynamic shooting environments.
Course Objectives
Students will review and build upon the core fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, including:
- Operational mechanics of the semi-automatic rifle
- Mechanical offset and sight-over-bore considerations
- Optics and Back-Up Iron Sights (BUIS)
- Establishing a 50/250-yard zero
- The 7 Fundamentals of Rifle Shooting
- Stance
- Grip
- Sight Picture
- Sight Alignment
- Trigger Control
- Breathing
- Follow Through
- Shooting positions
- Malfunction diagnosis and immediate action procedures
- Loading, unloading, clearing, and reloading
Advanced Skills Covered
Students will also learn and practice:
- Proper rifle sling setup and usage
- Battle belt and equipment configuration
- Tactical reloads
- Additional shooting positions
- Cover vs. concealment
- Strong-side and support-side shooting techniques
- Shooting from cover
- Shooting while moving
Required Equipment
Students must bring:
- Semi-automatic carbine chambered in an intermediate rifle caliber
- AR-15 (preferred)
- AK platform
- SIG MCX
- Similar rifles
- Minimum 500 rounds of factory ammunition (No reloads permitted)
- Rifle sling
- Minimum 3 functional 30-round magazines
- Battle belt or chest rig with at least one rifle magazine pouch
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection
- Baseball cap with a bill
- Clothing appropriate for weather conditions
- Closed-toe footwear (No Crocs, flip-flops, sandals, or cowboy boots)
- Rifle cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Spare batteries for optics, electronic hearing protection, or other accessories

- Registration is required before the class.
- A completed liability waiver is required.
- All students must attend the mandatory Range Safety Brief before live-fire exercises.
- Firearms must remain unloaded until instructed by the course instructor.
- Safety violations may result in dismissal from the course without a refund.
